Katie Robertson

Being a new parent can be an incredibly challenging time, we can often
feel judgement and expectations of ourselves and from society that
pregnancy and motherhood should feel a certain way.  We can have a whole
number of questions – Why is being a new parent not what I expected?
Why haven’t I bonded with my baby? Why do I feel so sad? Why was the
birth not what I had planned?

As a BACP registered Integrative Therapist, I can work with you to
explore birth trauma/loss and both conscious and unconscious factors
within your relationship with your baby. Often, these factors are
influenced by our own experience of our childhoods and how we were
parented.   We may want to replicate these experiences or feel we want
our baby to have better experiences than we had. By understanding how
our own experiences influence the unique ways in which you and your baby
interact, you will be able to begin strengthening and growing that vital
bond between you.

Being able to reach out is often the hardest thing to do. But please be
assured, whatever your situation, you will always be met with
compassion, empathy and warmth.
