Volunteer for us
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the BTA. There are several ways you can help us.
Almost everyone who works for us is a volunteer, and we’re always on the look-out for people to join our team of peer supporters. Our main requirements are:
You’ll have experienced traumatic birth yourself
You’ll have been through a process of recovery – peer support is not a job for anyone who is still in the throes of birth trauma
You’re good at listening to other people’s stories in a supportive and non-judgemental way
You’re not running a business relating to birth, which is a potential conflict of interest
We’re also keen to recruit moderators for our Facebook group, which now has more than 18,000 members.
Finally, vacancies do occasionally crop up on our committee, so if you’d like us to let you know when one arises, please tick the box on the form below.

“Reading the information on the BTA website was the moment everything fell into place for me about my son’s birth. I didn’t know that what I had experienced was trauma and I totally underestimated how it had affected me because nobody else had ever mentioned birth trauma to me before.”
