Dr Rosanna Gilderthorp

Clinical psychologist, HCPC registered, BPS Chartered, DClinPsych, PGDip, BA(Hons)

Are you finding it hard to enjoy parenthood following a difficult birth? Maybe you are finding it hard to sleep, feel like you can never relax or find memories, images or smells from the birth keep coming back to you when you don’t want them too. Maybe you just generally feel low, anxious or unable to bond with your baby.

You do not need to suffer in silence. There are evidence-based therapies that can support you not only to recover from a traumatic birth, but to emerge from this experience as the parent that you want to be.

I am qualified to provide CBT and EMDR and other therapies. In our first session we will talk about the difficulties you are experiencing and decide together which therapy will help you move forward most effectively.

I am also qualified in birth preparation so, if you are planning another pregnancy I can help you plan for a future birth that is empowering rather than frightening.
